Heinrich Breling He was borne in Burgdorf on October 14, 1849 and spent his childhood in Fischerhude. Between 1863 and 1869, he studied art at the college in Hanover. After war 1870/71, he studied with W. Diez in Munich, where he became professor of art in 1883. In 1884, he was appointed artist to the court of King Ludwig II. of Bavaria. After king's death, Heinrich Breling returned to Hanover in 1895. At first, he lived and worked in Fischerhude only during the summer months, but in 1908 he settled there with his wife Amelie and 6 daughters. Heinrich Breling died in Fischerhude on June 9, 1914. He was an important representative of German historical and genre painting of the 19th Century.
