Jan Bontjes van Beek
He was borne 1899 in Vejle and passed away in Berlin in 1969.
After a potter apprenticeship and studies of glaze engineering, he founded the Fischerhude Kunstkeramik in 1925.
His first exhibition was in Munich in 1926.
In 1932, he moved to Berlin to set up an own ceramic workshop.
In 1947, he became professor of art in Berlin, same 1960 in Hamburg.
In 1963, he got the Hamburg Culture Award and the Berlin Art Award in 1965.
