Heinrich Breling

Heinrich Breling, Self-portraitpainting: Children at the WuemmeHe was borne in Hanover on October 14, 1849,
but he spent his childhood in Fischerhude.
Between 1863 and 1869, he studied art at college in Hanover. After war 1870/71, he studied with von Diez
in Munich, where he became professor of art in 1883.
In 1884, he was appointed artist to the court of
King Ludwig II. of Bavaria.

After king's death, Heinrich Breling returned to Hanover in 1895.

Heinrich Breling died in Fischerhude on June 9, 1914.
He was an important representative of German historical and genre paintings of the 19th Century.
